Abdul Fattah al-Barhan was born in 1960 in the village of “Qandtu” in the Nile State, north of Khartoum, the capital of Sudan. This village is about 173 kilometers away from Khartoum, and the historical city of “Shandi” is the closest city to it. In addition to 7 brothers and two sisters, he also has half brothers and sisters.
Al-Barhan belongs to a religious Muslim family in the “Khatmiya” style, which is one of the Sufi sects in Sudan. He, who has three children, spent his life commuting between Yemen and the UAE until the revolution of 2019 in Sudan.
Education
Al-Barhan passed the elementary and middle school stages in his village schools and went to Shandi city to complete his secondary education. Then he graduated from the Sudan Military Academy with the officers of the 31st Division and participated in training courses in Egypt and Jordan until 2018.
