China thinks America is a paper tiger.
The “National Interest” magazine wrote in an article referring to the failure of US policies in competition with China: “China officially thinks that the United States is a paper tiger. “Some Americans agree.”
Referring to the developments in the world and the recent analysis of experts, this article states that “the United States is facing a retreat, defeat or stalemate, and under these conditions, China is winning the game.” On the other hand, with the existing conditions, Washington’s grand strategy is wrong. Most importantly, it is not clear whether the war between Russia and Ukraine will push the Biden government to “victory” or not, because Washington has been cautious and worried about the escalation of tensions with Russia.
Referring to the developments in the Middle East, the author suggests that naturally, the top of the list of bitter events that the United States is dealing with these days goes back to the Middle East. Referring to some of the actions of the United States regarding the Middle East, the author mentions them as follows: “The withdrawal from Afghanistan was shameful. The continued presence of the United States in Iraq is also reprehensible. Bashar al-Assad remains in power despite US opposition, and the US-backed Arab springs in Libya and Egypt have failed.
Referring to US spending in Afghanistan, the author calls it a failure and writes: “In Afghanistan, the US government was present for twenty years and spent two trillion dollars.” And so the United States should learn from these costs and failures that “Washington should avoid structuring nation-building in the Third World.”
