For this purpose, the ISIS members first of all try to keep the situation tense and unstable in their target areas, and the attacks that these elements carry out individually every now and then are for this purpose, so that they can reorganize their situation. ISIS has started a war of attrition so that it can cause the greatest possible casualties to the Iraqi security forces and more damage to the Iraqi infrastructure.
Where are the areas of ISIS activity in Iraq?
ISIS found the opportunity to consolidate its positions in some places, especially in Kirkuk, Diyala, Nineveh, Salah al-Din, the border areas of Iraq and Syria, and the Hamreen mountains, so that they can attack Iraqi forces at the right time, and these areas are currently the most active centers. ISIS is considered to be in Iraq. Recently, the Takfiris have carried out a series of attacks on the areas of Kirkuk, Nineveh, the suburbs of Diyala and Jalula, and east of Salah al-Din. Some security sources reported the existence of ISIS training centers in the Anbar desert in western Iraq and the border with Syria.
Currently, ISIS is active in three regions;
1- Anbar Island from Wide Horan to Al-Rutba Desert.
2- Hamrin hills to Hawijah and south of Kirkuk.
3- The Qarajogh mountain range located in Makhmur, east of Nineveh
