American general: Russian-Chinese military alliance is very dangerous.
The US Army Joint Chiefs of Staff stated that Washington does not want a war with Russia and China, and said that they need an approach to prevent the military alliance between Beijing and Moscow.
US Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley said on Friday evening that the military alliance between Russia and China poses risks for Washington.
Milli explained in an interview with “Defense One” magazine: “We need a geopolitical approach that does not bring China and Russia so close that they form a military alliance against the United States.” “Beijing and Moscow are not yet forming a military alliance, but if such an alliance emerges, it will be a challenge for the United States.”
He warned about any military conflict between Russia and China with the United States, and stated: “If the war of the three superpowers starts and two of them are against us, it will be a very big challenge.”
According to the Defense One website, this four-star American general stated that Washington does not want a war between the superpowers, and said that for this purpose he adheres to the philosophy of “peace through coercive force”.
Milli continued: “The rhetoric in China or any other country, including the United States, can create the impression that we are on the verge of war with each other.” It [war] could happen, an incident could happen that would trigger an uncontrollable conflict. Therefore [war] is not impossible. But for now, I don’t want to say that it is among the possibilities.”
