Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that whether the Supreme Court forms a five-member bench or a full bench, it does not matter to us.
He tweeted that whether the Supreme Court has a five-member bench or a full bench to hear the election postponement case, it doesn’t matter to us, we just want to know whether the elections are taking place during the period provided in the constitution (90 days) or not! .
Imran Khan said that before dissolving the assemblies of Punjab and KP, we had consulted our top constitutional experts, all of whom agreed that the constitutional provision of holding elections in 90 days cannot be deviated from. Now the imported government of criminals, their patrons and the highly controversial Election Commission have made an open mockery of the Constitution.
He said that by declaring various clauses of the constitution as enforceable for themselves while others are unenforceable, this group is actually attacking the foundation of Pakistan which is based on the rule of law and constitution.
Imran Khan further said that these people are so scared of the elections and so desperate to save their convicted criminal leaders that they are ready to erase even the last sign of the rule of law.
It should be noted that the government has demanded the Supreme Court to form a full court in the case.
