Details Of Iran Saudi Agreement Disclosed.
A Saudi official announced that Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed mediation for reconciliation between Iran and Saudi Arabia to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the end of last year.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, emphasized that the initial conversation between the Chinese leader and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman took place during bilateral meetings at a meeting in Riyadh in December 2022.
He added: “The President of China expressed his desire for China to be a bridge between Saudi Arabia and Iran, and Mohammed bin Salman also welcomed it.”
The Saudi official emphasized that Riyadh believes Beijing is in a unique position to expand its influence in the region.
He emphasized that especially in relation to Iran, China ranks first or second in relation to international partners, therefore, influence in this relation is important and it is not possible to have an equally important replacement.
This Saudi official emphasized that China’s role will probably help the stability of the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia and that this country is the main contributor to the security and stability of the region.
