Stoltenberg: Ukraine joining NATO is not a priority.
According to Rashatudi, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, during his visit to Finland, claimed that although Kyiv’s membership in this military alliance is welcomed, its realization is not in the “near future” because right now the priority is to ensure victory of Ukraine as a Sovereignty and the country is independent.
Stoltenberg also added that after the end of the current war between Ukraine and Russia, it is necessary to ensure that “history does not repeat itself”, and according to him, in order to achieve this goal, NATO must strengthen the military forces of Ukraine and create a framework to prevent to determine Kiev from the attacks of Russia again.
The Prime Minister of Finland, Sana Marin, who was speaking to the journalists, said that the future of Ukraine is to be a part of the European Union and NATO, and further emphasizing the necessity of continuing the military supply of Kyiv, he added: as soon as possible, give them weapons “If we give heavy, the war will end sooner.”
In the meantime, Moscow once again criticized the unified action of the West in rejecting the security negotiations and emphasized that the United States and its allies should change their approach to world security and take Moscow’s concerns into consideration.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said yesterday (Tuesday) that since Moscow presented its draft security treaties to Washington, Brussels, and Vienna in late 2021, Russia’s relations with the US and Europe had “undergone a fundamental change” as they all announced that “they are not ready to negotiate about anything!”
Peskov also said that Europe and America “could have sat down at the negotiating table long before the start of the war in Ukraine.”
According to him, now NATO is completely involved in the war; “Their intelligence service has been working against Russia 24 hours a day and they are giving their weapons to Kyiv for free to shoot Russian soldiers and Ukrainian civilians.”
Peskov emphasized: the moment NATO unofficially became a party to the Ukrainian war, the situation changed. In fact, the NATO alliance no longer acts as a conditional competitor but as our enemy.
