Moscow: Without Russia’s guarantee, Biden could not dare to visit Ukraine.
The spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the US President had asked Russia to guarantee his life before his trip to Ukraine.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova today (Wednesday) described Joe Biden’s visit to Kyiv as “impertinent” and said that the US president’s visit to Kyiv would never have taken place without Russia’s guarantee of his life.
According to Russia Elium, he said: “Biden did not have the courage to travel to Kyiv without informing Russia and without obtaining guarantees about his security.”
Zakharova further added: “It is good to point out that according to forensic scientists and psychologists, the criminal always returns to the scene of the crime, and Biden’s trip to Ukraine was a perfect example of this fact.”
The spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that Biden arrived in Kyiv on the anniversary of the protests and unrest in Ukraine on November 21, 2013, and said that Biden’s failure to mention the diplomatic solution to the conflict in both Kyiv and Warsaw shows Washington’s desire to increase tensions with Moscow.
He then pointed to Biden’s meeting with Zelensky, saying that the meeting showed well who actually rules Ukraine.
In this regard, White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said on Monday that the US had informed Russia about the visit of US President Joe Biden to Ukraine.
“We let the Russians know that President Biden was going to Kyiv,” Jake Sullivan said. He added that this message was sent “hours before” Biden’s departure and its purpose was to avoid conflict.
Earlier, Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy of the Russian National Security Council, also confirmed this news and said that Biden entered Kyiv after receiving security guarantees from Russia.
The US President, who arrived in Kyiv on Monday morning (February 20) on an unannounced and security trip, left the capital of Ukraine for Poland after staying in this city for about five hours and meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart.
Earlier, CNN reported that Biden’s trip to Kyiv was made in secret, reflecting heightened security concerns when traveling to an active war zone.
According to the report, Air Force One left Joint Base Andrews in the dark at 4:15 a.m. Sunday (local time) and reporters on board were not allowed to bring their belongings with them.
This trip was not announced in Biden’s public program, and White House officials repeatedly announced last week that a trip to Ukraine was not on the agenda.
According to the American channel, on Saturday evening before Biden’s departure, he went out to dinner with his wife in Washington and was not seen in public again until Monday morning when he arrived in Kyiv.
According to the report, Biden was accompanied on the trip by a relatively small group of administration officials, including White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, Biden’s Deputy Chief of Staff Jen O’Malley Dillon, and his personal assistant Annie Tomasini.
While Biden tried to put all the blame on Russia in his speeches in Kyiv and Warsaw, Vladimir Putin also said yesterday in a televised speech on the anniversary of the start of the war in Ukraine that the “Nazi regime” and NATO member countries were the main cause of the start of the war.
