Senior Taliban official: The ban on women’s education and work will be lifted soon.
The political deputy of the Taliban’s foreign ministry announced that restrictions on women will be lifted soon.
Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai, the political deputy of the Taliban’s foreign ministry, announced the ban on women’s work and employment in the near future.
Stanekzai told reporters on the sidelines of the big celebration of the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran in Kabul: “The issue of banning women from working and studying will be resolved soon.”
He added that all the people of Afghanistan, men and women, will be allowed to work and study based on the Islamic Sharia and current culture in this country.
This senior Taliban official pointed out: “The work to remove restrictions on women is continuing and we hope that these problems will be solved soon.”
Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai said at the ceremony of the 44th anniversary of the victory of the revolution that the relations between Iran and Afghanistan should be increased and developed in the economic, commercial, cultural and diplomatic fields.
These statements are despite the fact that after coming to power, the Taliban banned the education of girls in middle school and high school and recently also banned girls from studying in universities.
On the other hand, in continuation of the Taliban’s restrictions on women, this group has banned the activities of this group in foreign institutions and has also canceled the registration of girls in the national entrance exam.
Recently, Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Taliban’s interior minister, criticized the leadership of this group and said that monopolizing power and imposing views on the people is not in their interest.
Haqqani considered the continuation of the current situation intolerable and emphasized that people will distance themselves from them.
He also emphasized that in the current situation, people’s wounds need to be healed.
