United Nations: We are looking for a solution to remove the restrictions on women in Afghanistan
Referring to his trip to Kabul, the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations said that in order to remove the restrictions on women in Afghanistan, he met with the Council of Scholars of the interim government of the Taliban and the executive authorities of the provinces and are looking for a solution.
“Amneh Mohammad”, the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, stated that during her trip to Afghanistan, she discussed women’s rights with the members of the Taliban Ulama Council in Kandahar.
He mentioned on his Twitter that he tried to secure the rights of Afghan women during this meeting.
The Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations said: “In Kandahar, I met with provincial executive officials and the Council of Scholars to seek a space for dialogue to secure the rights of women and girls.”
Amina Mohammad expressed her hope that ways will be found to remove the Taliban’s restrictions against women in Afghanistan.
It should be noted that after his visit to Afghanistan two weeks ago, the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations said that progress has been made in the field of women’s rights in Afghanistan, but a lot of work needs to be done in this regard.
The most senior female official of the United Nations has stated that we hope that we can finally reach a stage where the bans are lifted and the restrictive orders are neutralized and women and girls can return to schools and workplaces.
