Prince Harry’s claim of killing 25 members of the Taliban has caused controversy.
Prince Harry’s statements about the killing of 25 members of the Taliban while serving in the British Army in the Afghanistan war and likening the people killed to chess pieces, were criticized by British army officials and security organizations.
Prince Harry, the son of the British King, has faced criticism from British security and military officials after he claimed to have killed 25 members of the Taliban while serving in the British Army in Afghanistan.
According to the Daily Telegraph newspaper, Harry made these comments in his autobiography, which is scheduled to be published on January 10.
Harry wrote in his book: “My number is 25 (people). It’s not a number that satisfies me, but it doesn’t make me ashamed either.”
In another part of his book, he compared the elements of the Taliban group to chess pieces that have been removed from the chess board instead of human beings.
These statements of Prince Harry have faced severe criticism from the British Army. These officials have said that Harry’s statements endanger his security and bring the British Army into disrepute.
“Kim Darroch,” the former British national security adviser, who was also the British ambassador to the United States between 2016 and 2019, told Sky News that he will advise Prince Harry to issue a statement in this regard.
Colonel Richard Camp, a retired officer of the British Army, also told Sky News that Harry’s comments have tarnished his reputation and unfairly portrayed the British Army negatively.
