Karachi: National airline PIA has started flights to Istanbul.
Federal Minister of Aviation Khawaja Saad Rafiq saw off the passengers of the first flight from Lahore Airport, while the passengers were welcomed by the Chief Executive Officer and senior officials of Turkish Airlines upon arrival in Istanbul.
According to PIA spokesperson, direct flights have been started between Pakistan and Turkey on completion of 75 years of historic diplomatic relations. Pakistan and Turkey have strong and deep fraternal ties and the launch of these flights is a renewal of the longstanding relationship between the two Islamic countries.
PIA’s flights to Turkey enable passengers to easily travel to 28 cities in Europe, UK and USA.
