Qatar: We do not supply Asian gas to Europe.
The energy minister of Qatar said that this country will never give the gas that is supposed to be sold to the Asians to the Europeans this winter.
Saad Al-Kaabi, Minister of Energy and Chairman of Qatar Energy Company, said on Tuesday that Doha will never send gas shipments to Europe this winter that it previously signed contracts with Asian customers.
Speaking to reporters, he added: “Qatar will adhere to the contracts that it has made and when it signs an agreement with Asian or European customers.”
Qatar is one of the largest exporters of liquefied natural gas in the world and plans to develop its gas fields through projects.
In recent months, following the escalation of tensions between the West and Moscow on the pretext of Russia’s attack on Ukraine, European countries and the United States have sought to increase the production of oil and gas exporting countries in order to somehow deal with the decrease in Russian energy exports and overcome their energy crisis. In this situation, OPEC+ has recently voted to reduce oil production by two million barrels per day.
The crisis of shortage of energy carriers in Europe is so great that “Karl Lauterbach”, the German Minister of Health, warned about the deterioration of the country’s hospitals due to the energy crisis.
During his speech, he said: “There is a real risk of bankruptcy of hospitals due to two energy crises and inflation.”
Currently, the lack of energy resources will be one of the crises facing European countries, especially in winter.
