The World Human Rights Watch and the “Bahrain Rights and Freedoms” Center announced today (Monday) in a statement that the courts of Bahrain have recently issued the death sentence of 4 Bahraini dissidents.
According to Al Jazeera, these human rights institutions announced that the sentences issued were based on cruel trials and confessions obtained under torture.
In the joint statement of the World Human Rights Watch and the “Bahrain Rights and Freedoms” center, the governments of the United States, England and the European Union have been asked to put pressure on the Manama government to stop the executions and the violation of justice through diplomatic means.
This statement is issued while the government of Bahrain is preparing to hold parliamentary elections, and King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain has recently announced the time of holding parliamentary elections in this country on November 12 (November 21). An election that seems to be accompanied by a widespread boycott of the opposition.
In this regard, Ayatollah Isa Qassem, the leader of the Islamic Movement of Bahrain, emphasized on the 7th of Mehr that the so-called parliamentary elections in this country are a disaster for the people of Bahrain.
Not long ago, a Lebanese newspaper wrote that the poor conditions of political prisoners in Bahrain have reached such a level that some European representatives have called for sanctions against the Bahraini government.
In an article quoted by a European legal source, the Lebanese newspaper “Al-Bana” wrote that the issue of political detainees in Bahrain is higher than the European Union can remain silent about.
This source said that the number of political prisoners in Bahrain is three thousand, more than a hundred of them have contracted the corona virus and one prisoner has died due to this disease.
