American general: Washington has lost its intelligence capacity in Afghanistan.
The former commander of CENTCOM terrorists said: Currently, we have a very limited ability to collect information in Afghanistan.
On the anniversary of September 11, the former commander of the CENTCOM terrorists gave explanations about the weakness of American intelligence after leaving Afghanistan.
In an interview with Daily Wire, this retired American soldier said: 21 years after the September 11 attacks, the United States has limited its intelligence capacity in Afghanistan.
“I think we have a very limited intelligence-gathering capability in Afghanistan right now,” McKenzie added.
The high-ranking general of the American army added: “Currently, the United States has only 3% of the intelligence capacity after the withdrawal of foreign forces to monitor Afghanistan.”
McKenzie also said that he advised President Joe Biden to keep 2,500 soldiers in Afghanistan to monitor the activities of Al-Qaeda and ISIS in Afghanistan, and the withdrawal of all troops from this country will make terrorist forces a significant threat to the United States.
In response to a question about the US government’s assessment that ISIS and Al-Qaeda do not pose a threat to Washington, this retired general also said that these groups can still be “reconstructed” and cause problems in the future.
The former US military also said about the assassination of the leader of al-Qaeda in Kabul: “What is important in this context is that al-Zawahiri lived in a prosperous area of Kabul.”
He also said that the Biden administration’s report on the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan should have been shared with the American public.
Previously, McKenzie said that the American president was warned many times that if the American forces withdraw quickly, there is a possibility of the collapse and fall of the Kabul government.
He added: “I insisted that 2,500 soldiers remain in Afghanistan and I believed that if these soldiers remain in Afghanistan, the Afghan government will not fall.”
