American Congress member’s objection to aid to Ukraine: We are not an ATM
A member of the US House of Representatives protested against the country’s large amount of financial aid to Ukraine and said that Biden should know that we are America, not an ATM.
Lauren Boibert, the Republican representative of the US House of Representatives from the state of Colorado, strongly criticized the decision of the Joe Biden administration for more military aid to Ukraine in a Twitter message.
He wrote in this Twitter message: “13.7 billion dollars more (aid) to Ukraine? Democrat extravagance never ends. “Biden must understand that we are America, not an ATM.”
A few days ago, US President Joe Biden announced the allocation of a military aid package worth about three billion dollars to Ukraine and said that this is Washington’s biggest commitment so far.
The White House press release published on Wednesday (August 24) quoted Biden as saying: The United States is committed to supporting the people of Ukraine in their continued struggle to defend their sovereignty. As part of this commitment, I am proud to announce our largest security contribution to date; About $2.98 billion in weapons and equipment will be provided through the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative.
According to Biden, the new aid will allow Kiev to receive new air defense systems, artillery and ammunition, anti-drone air systems and radar.
From February 24, 2022 (5th of March 1400), after recognizing the independence of the two republics of Luhansk and Donetsk from Ukraine, Russia sent troops to this country and announced the start of a special military operation. Russia has announced its goal of this action to de-Nazify Ukraine, disarm this country, solve its security concerns and respond to Luhansk and Donetsk’s request for help, and has said that it has no intention of seizing Ukrainian lands.
Following the beginning of Russia’s conflict with Ukraine, while condemning Moscow and intensifying economic pressures, Western countries have put all-round political, financial, and weapons support for Kiev on the agenda. Despite the support of the Westerners, on the field scene, Russia has managed to control Luhansk in the eastern Donbas region of Ukraine and is trying to dominate all regions of Donetsk.
