Lahore: Due to floods , the train operation is still closed, before the restoration of which the railways has decided to run only freight trains in the first phase.
According to the railway administration, the authorities have decided to start the freight train operation from Karachi in the first phase to deliver the aid received at the international level to all the cities across the country. Train drivers have been instructed to pass freight trains through water-logged areas on the track at minimum speed.
According to the sources, this decision has been taken due to the presence of many containers and freight trains in Karachi Division, so that the delivery of relief goods is possible and the difficulties faced by the business community can also be reduced. The railway administration says that more aid coming from abroad for the flood victims will now be easier to reach the flood affected districts.
