Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced a grant of 10 billion rupees for the province during his visit to the flood-affected areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and said that we will work together with the National Disaster Management Authority and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for the rehabilitation of the victims.
Addressing the flood victims in Kanju after reviewing the rescue and relief activities in the flood-affected areas, the Prime Minister said that the recent floods have caused a lot of damage, roads have washed away, bridges have been destroyed, the government of Pakistan, provincial The Governments and Armed Forces of Pakistan are engaged in relief and rehabilitation work.
The Prime Minister said that NDMA, PDMMA, all political elected representatives and administration are actively participating in the relief work.
He said that thousands of tourists are stranded in Swat while the Pakistan Army is working for their safe evacuation, the evacuation of all tourists will be completed by tomorrow evening.
He said that during the recent deadly floods, more than a thousand people were killed, thousands of people were injured, millions of people were displaced, ready-made crops were destroyed, thousands of acres of paddy fields in Sindh, cotton crops were destroyed, date palms were destroyed. The gardens are ruined.
The Prime Minister said that Sindh, Baluchistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa suffered a lot of damage, 7 lakh animals were swept away in the water, while lakhs of people are currently under the open sky, their houses have been destroyed.
He said that the lives of millions of people have been saved by the prayers and efforts of the entire nation. Yesterday, General Qamar Javed Bajwa also visited Swat and reviewed the relief activities.
He said that FWO, NHA and Pakistan Army’s engineering corps are also fully operational, the government has allocated 28 billion rupees for relief work and 25 rupees for each victim through the Benazir Income Support Program. The family is being provided for.
Shahbaz Sharif said that intensive work is going on in Sindh for the rehabilitation of flood victims, relief activities are also being done in Balochistan and now the work of helping the victims is also being started in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while South Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan. Including where people affected will be helped.
He said that 10 lakh rupees are being given to those whose loved ones died during this time, 3 lakh rupees are being given to the injured, it is the duty of the government to take care of the victims, the damages are being assessed, 3 thousand 500 rupees. Kilometers of roads have been damaged, more money and funds will be provided for rehabilitation.
He said that the roads and infrastructure in Swat have suffered a lot, we have announced a grant of 15 billion rupees for rehabilitation works in Sindh, 10 billion rupees for Balochistan and today we have announced a grant of Rs. I also announce a grant of 10 billion rupees, NDM and KP will work together with the government for rehabilitation.
He said that the United Nations issued a flash appeal of 160 million dollars for Pakistan yesterday. After this appeal, more international organizations and countries will also come to help. Will spend for maintenance.
Earlier, Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif visited the flood-affected districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The Prime Minister visited Kalam and Kanju in Swat district while visiting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to review the situation in Lower Kohistan district.
Meanwhile, the prime minister was also briefed on the damage caused by the flood and relief activities.
During his visit, the Prime Minister reviewed the relief work and also met the flood victims.
Shahbaz Sharif also met the tourists stuck in Kalam.
The Prime Minister immediately ordered the provision of helicopters to evacuate the stranded tourists and said that he would personally supervise all the evacuation work.
