Balochistan: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced a grant of 10 billion rupees for rehabilitation during his visit to the flood affected areas of Balochistan. Many villages were wiped out, more than a thousand people have lost their lives.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif reached Jafarabad district of Balochistan to review the rescue and relief activities in the flood affected areas.
Chief Minister Balochistan was also with him on this occasion, Chief Secretary Balochistan and DG PDMA briefed the Prime Minister on the efforts made to help the flood victims and restore the damaged infrastructure.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also met the flood victims. During the briefing, the Prime Minister was told that there was a lot of damage in Qila Abdullah and Qila Saifullah, more than 9 lakh acres of agricultural land was damaged.
During the briefing, it was told that more than 2 thousand roads have been destroyed by flood in Balochistan, more than 65 thousand houses have collapsed due to flood. On August 26, Quetta was completely blacked out.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, on the occasion of his visit to the flood-affected areas of Balochistan, also made an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas during his trip.
Speaking to the media in Jafarabad, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the flood of 2010 was also very big, but the flood was limited only to the Indus River and its adjacent areas, while the recent floods have wreaked havoc in the entire country and Balochistan and Sindh are the worst. Provinces are the most affected.
The Prime Minister said that two days ago there were heavy rains in KP as well, which caused a lot of damage, seeing that houses built on the banks of the river and many buildings were swept away by the river, so far more than a thousand people have died and crops have been destroyed. .
He said that today I was told that ready crop of rice has been prepared in Naseerabad, there is too much water which is harmful to the land.
He said that food is being provided in the camps, there are problems in the supply of drinking water due to broken roads, the authorities have been instructed to repair the roads soon, electricity poles have fallen, transformers have been damaged.
Shahbaz Sharif said that I have just contacted my powerful, Pahlwan Federal Minister Khurram Dastigar and directed him to reach Balochistan so that the electricity supply in these areas will be restored immediately.
The Prime Minister said that yesterday the President of Iran, Turkey and the President of the UAE had a conversation and assured cooperation. We are happy that the ships of relief goods have left from Turkey. will reach Islamabad, I am grateful to the friendly countries for their assistance in this difficult time.
