Recruitment of Yemeni women by the UAE in Socotri.
The action of the UAE in recruiting women from Yemen’s Socotri and training them in Abu Dhabi by various officers, including Israeli officers, has angered the Yemenis.
Local sources in Yemen’s Socotri announced that Abu Dhabi has opened special centers for recruiting women from Yemen’s Socotri and training them, and has set an age requirement of 15 to 22 years for them.
According to “Al-Masira” report, recruiting these women and sending them to Abu Dhabi for training has angered the people of Socotra and described them as a clear target of Yemeni women.
In the continuation of this report, the UAE has previously recruited women in Socotri and this is the third time it has done so. Madhko women are sent to Abu Dhabi for training by officers of different nationalities, including Israeli officers.
Recently, Rashad Muhammad Al Alimi, the head of the Yemeni Presidential Council, recently appointed a person named Rafat al-Saghali, who is close to the UAE, as the governor of the Socotri archipelago.
This appointment has caused a wave of anger among Yemenis, and social media users have considered this action as handing over Yemen’s sovereignty in Socotri and legitimizing the “occupation of the Emirates”.
Political activist “Salem Bakhit al-Mahri” called Al-Alimi’s action disastrous. Yemeni writer and analyst “Abbas Al-Dale’i” also said that the Presidential Council implements the decisions communicated by the Emirati and Saudi officers and is not independent.
Yemeni journalist “Saddam al-Kamali” also announced that the appointment of a person related to the UAE as the governor of Socotri is the stabilization of the occupation.
On the other hand, the UAE has brought foreign engineers and pilots, including Israelis, to Yemen’s Socotra to set up a runway for reconnaissance and attack helicopters.
