The US State Department on Thursday welcomed arrival of four ships carrying oil derivatives in the port of Al-Hudaidah and called on Yemen to come to the negotiating table to resolve multi-year crisis.
According to Arab21, the US State Department also called on all parties to the conflict to take additional measures to immediately end the war in Marb and establish a comprehensive ceasefire. The ministry stressed that sending fuel and other basic goods to Yemen is vital.
The US call for talks and peace between the Yemeni parties came as Yemeni Ansarullah announced yesterday that it had not received the Saudi-sponsored initiative and that the plan had only been advertised in the media.
Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan announced Monday that his country has proposed a new “peace” plan to end the war in Yemen.
Noting that the Saudi initiative includes a nationwide ceasefire under the auspices of the United Nations, he stressed that the ceasefire would begin as soon as Ansarullah agreed to the plan.
