An initial agreement in Yemen for the release of some of the prisoners.
The head of the prisoners’ affairs committee in Yemen’s National Salvation Government announced that an agreement had been reached that would lead to the release of some of the prisoners.
Abdul Qadir al-Mortaza, the head of the prisoners’ affairs committee in the National Salvation Government of Yemen, announced that the new round of negotiations regarding the case of the prisoners in Amman, the capital of Jordan, has ended and an agreement has been reached on the names of some of the prisoners for release.
According to “Al-Masira” report, he further expressed his hope that the United Nations will work on holding another round of negotiations in order to complete the field measures for the release of all prisoners included in this agreement.
This week, “Mohammed Abdulsalam”, the spokesman of Ansarullah and the head of the negotiating team of the National Salvation Government of Yemen, announced that he arrived in Sana’a with an Omani plane and accompanied by a delegation from Oman.
He added that this trip was made in order to discuss the developments related to the ceasefire as well as Grundberg’s proposals to solve humanitarian and economic issues.
Last month, Abdul Qadir al-Mortaza, the head of the prisoner affairs committee in Yemen’s National Salvation Government, revealed the role of Saudi Arabia in disrupting the exchange of prisoners.
He told “Al-Masira” channel that the Saudi regime has disrupted 10 local agreements for the exchange of prisoners, which were supposed to be done before Eid al-Adha.
Al-Mortaza continued, the progress in the prisoner exchange case that was signed last March is still below 50%, the mercenaries of the Saudi coalition in Marib are still the main obstacle in this regard and they have not presented their lists so far.
