Fouad Hossein: From the north to the south of Iraq, they are angry with Turkey’s aggression.
In his speech at the UN Security Council meeting on Wednesday morning Tehran time, the Iraqi Foreign Minister, while requesting the issuance of a resolution requiring Turkey to leave Iraq, said that from the north to the south of the country, Turkey’s recent aggression in northern Iraq are angry.
Fouad Hossein, the Iraqi Foreign Minister, announced that Baghdad wants to issue a resolution requiring Turkey to withdraw its military forces from all Iraqi territory.
Speaking at the UN Security Council meeting, he added: “The Iraqi government emphasizes that it will try to make a positive contribution to solving the conflicts in the region.”
Fouad Hossein added: “Iraq declares its full readiness to cooperate with the relevant countries to expel the PKK from Iraq.”
He also demanded that Turkey pay compensation to the families of the victims of the country’s recent missile attack on Dohuk, Iraq.
The Iraqi foreign minister called for the creation of an independent international group to investigate this aggression.
Fouad Hossein emphasized: “Iraq rejects Turkey’s approach of transferring its internal problems to Iraq.”
He added: “There is a state of public anger that has engulfed Iraq from the south to the north due to Turkish aggression.”
The Iraqi foreign minister added: “We warn against the continuation of the aggressive behavior of the Turkish army, which may lead the situation to unimaginable consequences.”
On Wednesday last week, local media reported that a shell hit a tourist resort in Dohuk province during an attack by Turkish forces in northern Iraq and nine tourists lost their lives.
