British police attempt to control the nationwide protests against the increase in fuel prices.
British police announced that they are implementing measures to control motoring demonstrations across the country in protest of the sharp increase in fuel prices.
The British police announced on Friday that they are trying to use measures to control the nationwide motorcycle demonstrations in this country and the blocking of the main roads.
According to the “Independent” newspaper, today (Friday) there are going to be massive motorcycle protests across England in protest of fuel prices. The south-east of England is likely to experience the worst road closures.
In the message of the organizers of these protests on the Facebook social network, it is stated that this motorcycle demonstration is going to be held “all over the country”, including Birmingham, Cardiff, Liverpool, London and Manchester.
“Our protests office team are engaging with the organizers to see if we can inform the community of disruption and help minimize it,” said the chief constable of one of England’s boroughs.
“However, motorists may experience longer journey times, particularly on motorways which are often at their busiest at this time of year,” the British official added.
“We advise those using public transport to use alternative routes available or be prepared in advance for delays in their journeys,” he said.
About two weeks ago, similar protests in England against the increase in fuel prices led to the arrest of 12 protesters.
Motorcycle protests took place today in various English cities from Dover to Manchester, London and Birmingham, disrupting traffic on the main roads of these cities.
According to the London police, in the city of Bridgewater, motorcades of protestors have surrounded the garage of the “Shell” oil company for the price of fuel.
