KARACHI: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has sought a report on the performance of the management and board of management of Pakistan Steel and the losses incurred by Pakistan Steel.

According to sources, on the direction of the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, the Federal Ministry of Industries and Production sought a report from the CEO of Pakistan Steel.
The Federal Ministry of Industries and Production has directed the CEO of Pakistan Steel to submit a report by July 15. The report was sought on the appeal of Pakistan Steel’s People’s Workers Union CBA for self-notice.
It may be recalled that the People’s Workers Union in a letter sent to the Chairman Public Accounts Committee Noor Alam Khan on June 27, 2022, accused the Board of Directors and Management of Pakistan Steel of causing a loss of Rs 284 billion due to alleged criminal negligence and poor performance.
