Who will fill the position of Boris Johnson?
The names of several people among the options that have been proposed to replace the resigned Prime Minister of England are heard more than others.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a few hours earlier that he will step down after at least 50 lawmakers and government officials resigned from their positions in the last 48 hours.
The domino of resignations began after revelations that Johnson appointed Chris Pincher to a senior position in the Conservative Party despite knowing he was wanted over sexual misconduct allegations in 2019. Pincher himself resigned last week after it was revealed that he had sexually abused two women on July 29.
These events were the latest scandal that caught Johnson. A few months ago, the publication of reports in the media that the British Prime Minister’s office had organized May Day celebrations for the people at the height of the corona restrictions pushed Johnson to the brink of a vote of no confidence in the parliament, but his government was able to survive that fate.
Among those who might replace Boris Johnson, some of the options listed below are more likely to be mentioned than others.
Defense Minister of Boris Johnson is one of the options that have been widely speculated about the possibility of his replacement. Wallace is popular in England because of his support for Ukraine in the war against Russia. The results of a poll by the right-wing website Conservative Home show that he enjoys more support among the general Conservative Party supporters.
The name of Rob, who was the foreign minister of England at one time, is also heard among the proposed options. He temporarily took charge of the government in 2020 when Boris Johnson went to the hospital due to Corona.
