LAHORE: The Prime Minister has ordered immediate restoration of closed power plants and clarification of the reasons for power outages to ease the power crisis.
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif chaired an important meeting in Lahore on the ongoing power load shedding across the country. The meeting was attended by Minister of Planning Ahsan Iqbal, Minister of State for Petroleum Musaddiq Malik, Minister of Finance Muftah Ismail, Minister of Energy Engineer Khurram Dastgir, Minister of Information Maryam Aurangzeb, Member National Assembly Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Public Policy and Strategic Communications. Cahen Fahad Hussain attended the meeting via video link.
The meeting was also attended by senior government officials related to energy. The meeting discussed the ongoing power crisis in the country in which the Prime Minister ordered immediate restoration of closed power plants.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif directed that a report regarding load shedding should be submitted to him immediately in which the reasons for load shedding should be clarified.
The Prime Minister further directed that the issues related to provision of drinking water and agricultural facilities to the provinces should be resolved on priority basis and in this regard IRSA should take decisions in consultation with the provinces and with independence.
