Karachi: Minister of State for Petroleum Musaddiq Malik has said that we do not have gas and energy, the energy crisis will start to subside after July, water will be stored due to monsoon rains and oil will also come from abroad.
Talking to media in Karachi, he said that two companies are supplying gas in Pakistan, energy in the country depends on these two companies, 12 million units of LNG are imported from abroad, imported LNG factories are jumping. He said that furnace oil was imported from abroad 5 times in a month, we are importing additional furnace oil.
After the war in Russia, there was a severe crisis. Even if we wanted to buy it now, we could not buy it for ڈال 40. He said that people should be ready for power and gas crisis in winter in July, the government could not manage LNG on the spot for July and now supplier is not available even at high prices.
Minister of State for Petroleum Mussaddiq Malik said that two years ago LNG was available for ڈالر 4, but the previous government wasted this opportunity and did not sign long-term agreements, and now LNG is not available even for 40 40. He said that the private sector wanted to set up two big LNG terminals but allegations of corruption kept coming up in the previous government. We are trying to get the investors who were trying to set up LNG terminals to come back. The Sindh and Punjab governments also changed business hours to overcome the energy crisis and save electricity. The Sindh government had also issued an amendment notification in connection with the energy saving campaign.
