The Chief of Staff of the Zionist Army changes; Gantz meets with three possible successors.
The Israeli war minister is scheduled to meet next week with the candidates for the next chief of staff of the Israeli army and possible Kukhawi successors.
As the term of Avio Kokhawi as the Chief of General Staff of the Provisional Zionist Army approaches, it is now reported that Tel Aviv does not intend to keep him in this position.
According to Zionist media reports, the regime’s war minister, Bani Gantz, is scheduled to meet next week with the candidates for the next chief of staff of the Israeli army and possible Kukhawi successors.
Former Deputy Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, current Deputy Chief of Staff Hertzi Holloway and Israeli Army Chief of Staff Joel Strick are said to be Kukhawi’s successors.
“The Gantz is scheduled to meet with Zamir on Saturday, Strick on Tuesday, Tuesday and then Holloway on Wednesday,” the Jerusalem Post reported Thursday morning.
According to reports, Gantz has already spoken to the candidates by telephone and asked them strategic questions related to military command.
Kukhawi’s change comes as Tel Aviv intelligence services say that during his time at the helm of the army, the target bank in the Gaza Strip to attack them in the event of a conflict has weakened compared to the target bank on other fronts.
