ISLAMABAD: Former President Pervez Musharraf’s repatriation was hotly debated in the Senate session on which the senators expressed their views on the point.
Opposing the repatriation of former Army Chief, Senator Mushtaq Ahmed of Jamaat-e-Islami said that if Pervez Musharraf is repatriated then the doors of prisons should be opened and courts should be closed because he is no longer needed. ۔

PPP senator Yousuf Raza Gilani, while supporting Musharraf’s repatriation, said, “We will not make this decision. These decisions will be made elsewhere. When he went out, could you stop him and when he will come?” Can you stop
He said that when Pervez Musharraf was here, I had said that I forgave Musharraf and if Pervez Musharraf wants to come now, then this is his Pakistan and his home. No problem, but everyone should be treated the same.
Chairman Senate said that Pervez Musharraf is a resident of this country, he is ill, if he wants to come, let him come.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam leader and Senator Abdul Ghafoor Haideri while supporting the repatriation of Pervez Musharraf said that Pervez Musharraf is in a life and death struggle, there should be no obstacle in his repatriation and if obstruction is created then it will not be appropriate. ۔
PML-N Senator Irfan Siddiqui said that he agreed with Mushtaq Ahmed’s views on Pervez Musharraf.
He said that Nawaz Sharif said that no one else should bear the shock that I have endured, Mian Nawaz Sharif’s statement should not be brought under the category of support of dictator or dictatorship, if the law and order is strong then take your way, Nawaz Sharif spoke in human terms.
PTI Senator Faisal Javed said that Nawaz Sharif went abroad to get medicine from jail, Nawaz Sharif is self-proclaimed, now you have your own government so come back and face the cases.
