ISLAMABAD: The top leadership of the People’s Party (PPP) has agreed that all decisions on the situation in Afghanistan should be taken by the parliament and the parliament should be taken on board.
A high-level meeting of the PPP was held at Zardari House, Islamabad, in which the issues of terrorism, especially with the TTA and TTP, were discussed in the light of recent developments in Afghanistan.
A hybrid meeting was held under the chairmanship of former president Asif Ali Zardari and chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in which senior leadership of the party participated. A statement from Secretary-General Farhatullah Babar said the meeting reiterated the party’s position that all decisions should be made by Parliament and therefore Parliament should be taken on board.
He said the party also decided to approach the coalition parties to reach a consensus on its future course of action.

In addition, PPP Chairman and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on social networking site Twitter that a high level meeting of PPP has been held in which issues related to terrorism were discussed.
He further said that the recent developments with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Afghanistan and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were discussed at a high level meeting of the PPP.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that we will contact the coalition parties and build consensus to move forward.
