Defeat of no-confidence vote; Johnson remained British Prime Minister.
The no-confidence motion against the British Prime Minister failed with 211 votes against, leaving Johnson in a more precarious position as Prime Minister.
The British media reported on Tuesday morning that the vote of no confidence in the British Prime Minister “Boris Johnson” in the British Parliament had failed.
The Conservative Party in the British Parliament, known as the 1922 Committee, announced on Tuesday morning that a no-confidence motion against British Prime Minister Boris Johnson had been defeated by 211 votes to 148.
According to Reuters, Johnson remained in the post of British Prime Minister, while his recent scandals, including the violation of coronary restrictions and lying, will be in a more precarious position than in the past.
The vote came after new images released by the British media questioned Johnson’s claims that he was unaware of a lawmaker at a party at Downing Street during the Corona epidemic.
Newly released images of the event show Boris Johnson with bottles of alcohol and some other people. At the time, parties outside the family were banned, and eight days earlier quarantine had been restored in the UK due to an increase in cases of Covid-19.
Johnson has previously said he would not resign, insisting on his previous stance on the Partygate scandal. Johnson told the British Parliament he took full responsibility for everything that had happened but would not step down. (More details)
