ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered immediate release of gas discovered in the former tribal areas to the public.
The Prime Minister was received by Waqar Ahmad Malik, Chairman, Fuji Foundation Group and Faheem Haider, Chairman, Mari Petroleum. The Prime Minister was given a detailed briefing on the newly discovered deposits in Bannu, North Waziristan. Minister of State for Petroleum Senator Dr. Musaddiq Malik and Secretary Petroleum were also present in the meeting.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, after briefing on the overall situation of the gas sector, including demand and supply, gave approval for immediate release of the discovered gas to the people and directed that these reserves be provided to the people to save them from gas shortage. Be used

Shahbaz Sharif said that the people of the affected areas should be provided the fruits of the discovered gas. In this regard, he sought recommendations regarding development, social welfare, education and health of the region. The Prime Minister directed the concerned authorities to immediately formulate and present a plan in this regard as to what will be available to the people and children of the areas where gas has been discovered.
It should be noted that one trillion cubic feet of gas reserves were discovered in Bannu area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
