Lahore: Energy Minister Khurram Dastgir has said that complete elimination of load shedding is not possible but in the coming days there will be a clear reduction in load shedding.
Addressing the conference of Solar Energy Association, Energy Minister Khurram Dastgir said that generation of electricity from imported petrol, coal and diesel is not complete in Pakistan now, we have to go for cheap electricity hydel, solar and wind.
He said that sales tax on solar would be abolished in the federal budget and we would have to rely on cheap electricity in future. The reason for the increase in prices of electricity, gas and petroleum products is that the former government has indebted the country to the tune of Rs 5600 billion.
Khurram Dastgir further said that the final decision on the proposal to close the markets at sunset would be taken by the Prime Minister.
