Strange suggestion from an American politician about deadly school shootings.
The former speaker of the US House of Representatives has made a strange proposal to prevent the problem of killing children in deadly shootings in this country.
New York Gov. Newt Gingrich, the former speaker of the US House of Representatives, has made a bizarre proposal as the killing of 19 students at Rob Elementary School in Texas has rekindled controversy over gun laws in the United States.
According to Newsweek, Gingrich suggested that American teachers be paid an extra $ 500 to carry weapons and train to protect students in the event of a shooting.
Gingrich, a Republican, told Fox News on Wednesday that some staff at each school should be trained and paid extra.
A few nights ago, an 18-year-old boy killed 19 students and two teachers after entering Rob Elementary School in Ovald, Texas.
This is one of the deadliest armed violent incidents in American schools and universities in history. Dozens of school shootings have taken place in the United States in recent years, but the death toll from the 1999 massacre at Columbine High School in Colorado was high. Since then, the number of shootings in which more than 10 people have been killed has increased.
“Every school in the country should have five or 10 people with an extra $ 500 a month or more who want to be educated and armed to protect children,” Gincrich said.
Gingrich’s proposal is, of course, not a new one, but a slogan promoted by the National Gun Association lobby in response to criticism of the shooting in the United States. According to the slogan, “the only thing that can stop a badly armed person is a well-armed person.”
