After the decision of the Supreme Court, the demand for immediate elections in the country gained momentum. The position of the ruling coalition MQM has come to the fore in this regard.
According to a private TV report, after the economic challenges, the difficulties for the government are increasing after the Supreme Court’s decision on the presidential reference of the Supreme Court yesterday and the demand for immediate elections is gaining momentum.
In this regard, the main coalition partner of the government, the MQM, briefed the Prime Minister and government representatives on its position regarding the new elections in the meeting. Movement Pakistan is not interested in immediate elections but wants new census and new constituencies before the elections.
The MQM took a blunt stand in front of the government and said that new elections would be accepted after the new census. The MQM is ready for any sacrifice for the country and democracy.
According to sources, MQM Pakistan has been assured that the government is working for a new census. Earlier, MQM Pakistan chief Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that they are ready for early elections and this is the problem. He said that if the policy remained neutral in the elections this time, we would win back our 14 snatched seats.
In the current situation, the problem of dollar and petroleum prices is coming up and economic reforms need time because we have to save Pakistan and not politics. He further said that the government can take tough decisions to save Pakistan but our position is that its burden should not reach the poor and it can be made possible to give cheap petrol to the poor.
