Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that Pakistan’s response to the global corona virus was strong on scientific evidence and logical grounds.
According to media reports, the Foreign Minister expressed these views during a virtual address at the World Summit on Global Epidemic Corona hosted by the White House.
“The protection of health, especially during infectious diseases, is indisputable. Microscopic organisms (viruses that spread the virus) do not discriminate in the nation-states. For them, we are all the same. We must work together to combat them,” he said. should do.
Bilawal Bhutto said that in order to deal with the health crisis, it is necessary to be strong on scientific evidence and logical basis, response, monitoring and diagnosis should be in accordance with established methods of epidemic diseases and community medicine.
“Pakistan’s response to the epidemic is very much in line with these principles. We have given priority to vaccination, booster doses and appropriate measures to prevent infection,” he added.
Acknowledging the cooperation of international organizations and various countries that helped Pakistan during the Corona epidemic, he said that the United States had shown generosity in providing 62 million vaccines to Pakistan.
Talking about the need for Islamabad to maintain balanced relations with the two major powers of the world, the Foreign Minister said that China has always been of great help to us.
He said that Pakistan had also provided corona vaccine to the countries which were in need of it.
He called on the international community to discuss future health crises and find short- and long-term solutions.
