Mark Speer prevented Trump’s military attack on Iran.
The former US Secretary of Defense has said that the Trump administration has stopped him from carrying out very dangerous actions such as attacking Iran and Venezuela.
Former United States President Donald Trump’s Secretary of Defense Mark Speer said in an interview with CBS News’ “60 Minutes” aired yesterday (Sunday) that he would prevent a series of “measures “Dangerous that could have put the country (America) on a dark path under the Trump administration.”
According to the report, when CBS presenter Nora Odanel asked Sper during the “60 Minutes” interview for examples of the Trump administration’s dangerous actions, she referred to a proposal for “military action against Venezuela”, “attacking Iran” and “At one point, someone suggested that we besiege Cuba,” he said.
During the program, O’Donnell noted that Ukraine was the “primary source of tension” between Speer and President Trump. In his book, The Holy Oath, Speer documents that two days after he was confirmed as Secretary of Defense in the Senate, Trump asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelinsky to do him a favor in return for his assistance to the country. He did, which eventually led to Trump’s first impeachment.
According to the report, Speer agreed with O’Donnell that he should continue to press Trump for the release of $ 250 million in aid to Ukraine. “The debate was behind the debate. “Look, Mr. President, in the end, Congress decided. It’s the law. We have to implement it.”
