Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has imposed a complete ban on sugar exports to meet local demand.
The Prime Minister said in a tweet on the social networking site that he had ordered a complete ban on the export of sugar in view of its local consumption and directed that it be stopped by hoarders, profiteers and artificial shortages. Strictly deal with.
According to the report of Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister has decided to ban the export of sugar in order to keep the stock and price of sugar in the country stable.
The report further said that the Prime Minister has directed the concerned agencies to keep abreast of the effective implementation of their orders.
Shahbaz Sharif warned that if there was any negligence in this regard, the concerned officers and staff would be held responsible.
Consumers have been complaining of shortage of sugar and flour at utility stores since last month when the government took steps to reduce the prices of various food items at utility stores to provide relief to the people during the month of Ramadan.
According to the report of Dawn newspaper, shortage of sugar has been reported especially in the utility stores of Punjab from where sugar has disappeared.
According to the report, the management of the stores has made the purchase of oil and sugar conditional on the purchase of other items. The Utility Stores Corporation later denied the allegations.
Consumers have demanded that the government make sugar and other items available at utility stores.
