Shameful defeat of the British Prime Minister in the London elections.
Britain’s ruling party has suffered heavy defeats in local elections in various parts of the capital that it has controlled for decades.
The British Conservative Party suffered a heavy defeat in the local elections, which were held in the shadow of the recent scandals of the government.
According to Reuters, the preliminary results of the British election published on Friday morning show that the party of the Prime Minister “Boris Johnson” has given its base in London to the Labor Party and has lost in several other constituencies.
The British expelled Johnson’s party from the local council of the key Westminster area so that the Labor Party could take control of the area. Most of the Conservative-held areas of London have been under party control for decades.
Thursday’s election in Britain will determine the holders of 7,000 local council seats and ultimately the appointment of 170 local government officials who will be responsible for day-to-day affairs and services to citizens.
“The results are amazing, absolutely amazing,” Kerr Starmer, the leader of the British Labor Party, told a crowd of supporters in London this morning. “Believe me, this is a major turning point for us since the 2019 general election.”
Although the ruling party in the south of the country has suffered a severe defeat, it has managed to maintain its dominance in the center and north of England, where the majority of people voted to leave the European Union (EU) in 2016.
Local government elections have been held in various parts of Britain, including England, Wales and Scotland, as the London government continues to grapple with the consequences of its recent scandals.
