FBI spying on Americans has tripled.
The American CIA’s annual Transparency Report shows that FBI spying on Americans has tripled in 2021 compared to last year.
In its annual Transparency Report released yesterday (Friday), the US intelligence community acknowledged that between December 2020 and November 2021, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) surveyed approximately 3.4 million Americans. Despite the FBI’s claim that it was looking for foreign hackers, civil liberties groups say the FBI’s move was a widespread attack on American privacy.

The report explains that electronic data is legally collected in accordance with Section 702 of the External Information Monitoring Act. The report also states that the number of interrogations and investigations of Americans has increased dramatically over the past year, with 1.3 million Americans being interrogated between December 2019 and November 2020, compared to last year. It had tripled.
