New Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that former Prime Minister Imran Khan will not be arrested. If there is any case of corruption against Khan, it will be investigated first.
He further said that foolproof security has been provided to former Prime Minister Imran Khan on the directives of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. We have no intelligence regarding the threat to Imran Khan’s life. According to the NNI report, scams worth billions of rupees have been reported in the Rawalpindi Ring Road project which will be investigated.
He said that long term and short term policies would be clarified to deal with the new wave of terrorism.
He said that we will not impose restrictions on social media but will regulate it. “Social media is the best platform for information and expression. False drug cases have been made against me and they will be investigated,” he said. He said that Imran Khan’s recent statements show that he is quick to change his stance. He said that diplomatic passport was the right of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and it would be issued to him.
He said that it was unfortunate that a person who had been the Prime Minister for three times was being deprived of his citizenship. He said the FIA would be reformed and would not be used for political revenge. He said that no retaliatory action would be taken against the former ruling party. He said that former Prime Minister Imran Khan had immediately withdrawn the security of former prime ministers and ministers and we will not do that.
