United Opposition Leader Raja Pervez Ashraf has been elected unopposed as Speaker National Assembly. No one has filed nomination papers against Raja Pervez Ashraf. The new Speaker National Assembly will take oath of office tomorrow.
According to the media, the National Assembly session has been convened tomorrow at 12 noon. A five-point agenda of the National Assembly session has also been issued, under which the election of new Speaker is also part of the agenda. There will be a no-confidence motion against Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri.
Similarly, no one has filed nomination papers for the post of Speaker against the opposition leader Raja Pervez Ashraf, due to which Raja Pervez Ashraf has been elected unopposed as the Speaker National Assembly.
The new Speaker National Assembly will take oath of office tomorrow. It may be recalled that the united opposition had also filed a no-confidence motion against Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Suri on April 8. The draft no-confidence motion was submitted by Murtaza Javed Abbasi to the Secretary National Assembly. Voting on the no-confidence motion against Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri will take place tomorrow. On the other hand, the names of the new cabinet of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif have been finalized. There will be a Minister of State.
The portfolio of Interior Ministry is likely to be given to Rana Sanaullah while the portfolio of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is likely to be given to Maryam Aurangzeb. Raja Pervez Ashraf of PPP is likely to be given the seat of Speaker and Deputy Speaker of National Assembly to JUI. The federal cabinet will have 12 ministers from PML-N, seven from PPP, three from JUI and one minister of state. Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto will meet Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
The MQM will be given the ministry of port and shipping, and another ministry. The MQM will be given the ministry of port and shipping, Baap Party and BNP Mengal will also be given 2.2 ministries. The ANP will be given the ministry of communications. The Governor of Sindh will be from MQM, the Governor of Punjab will be from PPP, the Governor of KPK will be from JUI and the Governor of Balochistan will be from BNP Mengal.
