ISLAMABAD: PTI Chairman Imran Khan and other PTI members have decided to resign from the National Assembly.
A meeting of PTI Parliamentary Party was held under the chairmanship of former Prime Minister Imran Khan in which 122 MNAs participated. The meeting considered the option of resigning from the National Assembly. Imran Khan sought the views of members of the National Assembly on the resignation proposal.

The participants of the meeting expressed full confidence in Imran Khan and assured him to stand by the party leadership. Party members said that Imran Khan’s decision regarding resignations would be accepted.
Party members said that whoever comes out of the government is accused of corruption. Praise be to Allah Imran Khan, there are no allegations of corruption, we stand with you and will continue to stand.
There was a divided opinion on the option of resignation of PTI members. A majority of members advised not to resign from the assemblies and said that instead of resigning, a democratic battle should be fought in the parliament.
According to sources, Fawad Chaudhry, Hamad Azhar, Sheikh Rashid and Ali Awan are in favor of resignation. Majority members including Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Faisal Javed, Fakhr Imam are in favor of not resigning.
After the debate, the party gave Imran Khan the authority to resign from the assemblies. He said that Imran Khan will submit his resignation when he orders.
After the consultation, Imran Khan said that my decision is that we will resign from the assembly, I will not sit in the assembly with these thieves, if I had to resign alone, I will resign.

Following this decision, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Acting Speaker Qasim Suri, Farrukh Habib, Shafqat Mehmood, Murad Saeed, Alia Hamza, MNA Shahid Khan tendered their resignations. PTI members submitted their resignations to Additional Secretary General Amir Kayani. So far 125 members have resigned.
Earlier, when Imran Khan reached the Parliament House, the journalist asked what he said about yesterday’s public protest. Imran Khan replied that it is Allah who gives honor.
