India: We have taken steps to make Chabahar port operational in Iran.
Noting the importance of the port of Chabahar, the President of India said that steps have been taken to make this port operational.

“We have taken steps to make Chabahar port operational in Iran,” Indian President Ram Nath Konid told diplomats at the Ashgabat Institute for International Relations, according to the Live Mint website. “It can provide safe, sustainable and barrier-free access to the sea for Central Asian countries.”
He said establishing ties with Central Asian countries is India’s top priority. “India is ready to cooperate, invest and connect in the region,” he added.
The President of India said that India’s foreign policy has been constantly changing since its independence, India’s partnership with the southern countries of the world has grown significantly and relations with the great powers have increased.
India agreed with Iran in 2015 on the development of the Chabahar port and the construction of a railway line connecting India to Afghanistan, and in 2016, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a visit to Iran, signed a $ 500 million investment agreement. Signed the development of Chabahar with Tehran.
Earlier, Indian Foreign Minister Jayas Jaishankar had suggested that the port of Chabahar be located in the North-South International Corridor for safe and unimpeded access to the sea by Central Asian countries. He also welcomed the plan of the working group of India, Iran, Afghanistan and Uzbekistan to share the port of Chabahar.
Regarding the Chabahar port project, the Indian foreign minister said that the Chabahar port in Iran has emerged as a commercial transit hub for the region and is a more economical and sustainable route for landlocked countries to reach the global market.
The Indian foreign minister had said that New Delhi had pledged a total of $ 85 million in grants and $ 150 million in credit facilities to develop the Shahid Beheshti terminal in the port of Chabahar.
