Attorney General of Pakistan Khalid Javed Khan has said that he rejects rumors about the imposition of emergency or other extraordinary measures in the country and said that such matters have not been considered at any level.
According to a report, he expressed the view that voting on a no-confidence motion within seven days is a mandatory constitutional requirement and cannot be deviated from.
There was no discussion in the meeting with the Prime Minister regarding the foreign letter as it is a matter of Foreign Office and I discussed with the Prime Minister the no-confidence motion and the constitutional and legal aspects of Article 63A. Khalid Javed Khan said that political Constitutional matters should not be misrepresented in matters as far as the implementation of Article 6 is concerned and this matter has not been considered at any level, the Attorney General said that as far as the no-confidence motion is concerned. Voting or not voting is a political issue on which decisions keep changing.
Earlier, Khalid Javed Khan had said that the Election Commission was behaving like a daddy. Cannot be neutral while participating. He said that the ECP may ensure that you do not announce any government scheme, the ECP may also say that no minister should use government vehicle. The Attorney General said that the Prime Minister had given written instructions that He will spend out of his own pocket. It has never been heard that the Election Commission says that the Prime Minister has been barred from going to Swat.
