Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Pir Noor-ul-Haq Qadri has demanded of Prime Minister Imran Khan to ban game shows during Ramadan.
Noor-ul-Haq Qadri has written a letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan in which he has requested for Ramadan broadcasting.
In a letter shared on social media by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Minister for Religious Affairs Noor-ul-Haq Qadri has sent six guiding principles of Ramadan broadcasting to Prime Minister Imran Khan on the complaints of the public regarding Ramadan transmission.
The letter written by the Minister of Religious Affairs said that promotion of religious and professional harmony in the society during Ramadan should be the first priority of Ramadan broadcasts, at the same time controversial issues and professional discussions should be avoided in Ramadan broadcasts.
The petition said that the hosts of Ramadan broadcasts should be equipped with the necessary religious knowledge and the dress code of the hosts and guests should be in accordance with the sanctity of the month of Ramadan.
In his letter, Noor-ul-Haq Qadri further requested that during the holy month of Ramadan, respect for holy persons and adherents of sects should be observed and game shows and other frivolous programs should be avoided during Sahar and Iftar hours. Immoral, inappropriate advertisements and programs should be banned during the month of Ramadan.
The letter further said that the Ministry of Information and PEMRA should issue appropriate instructions to the TV channels in this regard.
