Lavrov: We want a joint guarantee in favor of Russia, Ukraine and Europe.
Russia’s foreign minister has said his country wants security guarantees that benefit Russia, Ukraine and all European countries.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Friday that Moscow was seeking joint security guarantees in favor of Russia, Ukraine and Europe.
According to Sputnik, Lavrov said in an interview about Russia’s “special operation” in Ukraine: “The aim is to disarm Ukraine in such a way that there is no longer a threat from Ukrainian territory and security guarantees are obtained based on common security principles.” Be inseparable for Ukraine, Russia and all European countries. “We have been making these proposals for years.”
“I am confident that the historic rapprochement between the two brotherly nations will prevail,” he said, expressing hope that the “abnormal situation” between Moscow and Kiev would improve and that the West would prevent it.
“From the Pentagon’s point of view, Ukraine is probably the largest project and it manages such laboratories,” he said, referring to the discovery of bio-weapons laboratories in Ukraine.
Lavrov also condemned Western sanctions against Moscow, saying they were aimed at marginalizing Russia and reducing its role on the world stage to zero.
The Russian official reiterated that his country would target shipments of Western military aid to Ukraine.
