Moscow: The West is fueling the conflict with military support for Ukraine.
Russia’s ambassador to the United Nations has said that Moscow has withdrawn its vote on a Security Council resolution calling for a resolution on the Ukraine crisis.
Russia’s representative to the Security Council, Vasily Nebenzia, reiterated that the Ukrainian government is preventing civilians from leaving the conflict zone through humanitarian crossings.
“The campaign of spreading lies and misinformation about Ukraine continues and we have heard a lot of misinformation,” Nebenzia told a Security Council meeting Friday morning to discuss the Ukraine crisis.
“Since the start of the military operation, the Russian Defense Ministry has received more than 2.5 million evacuation requests from Russia,” he said, according to Sputnik. .
“In the last 24 hours, we have managed to evacuate more than 31,000 civilians,” the Russian diplomat said, noting that the Ukrainian regime is preventing the evacuation of civilians.
According to the report, Nebenzia added: “There are 70 ships in [Ukrainian] ports that are unable to leave due to the sea mines laid by the Ukrainian regime. “The West, with its military support for Ukraine, is fueling the conflict and adding to the fire.”
“We have decided not to ask for a vote on the draft resolution on the humanitarian situation in Ukraine, but we will not withdraw it,” he said, adding that Washington was also fomenting war in Ukraine.
“After the documents we have obtained, we will hold an emergency meeting tomorrow to discuss the issue of American laboratories in Ukraine,” said Russia’s representative to the Security Council on the issue of military-biological research facilities in Ukraine.
