Home Minister Sheikh Rashid has said that in the 18th Amendment, all parties had decided to stop horse trading and had given the Speaker the power to disqualify any member of the National Assembly who was involved in “floor crossing”.
Talking to media in Islamabad, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said that the week of March 23-30 is very important. I always say that the opposition should fulfill their passion. Imran Khan is going to win. They have the power to disqualify the people. In the 18th amendment, all political parties had decided to stop horse trading.
According to Sheikh Rashid, legal experts have given various suggestions to the Prime Minister to thwart the opposition’s no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister, including a proposal to write a letter to the Speaker regarding members violating party policy.
Sheikh Rashid said that Imran Khan already has the alleged list of such members, the Prime Minister has been requested to request the Speaker not to allow these members to vote on the violation of government policy.
According to sources, it has also been suggested that if these members cast their votes, their votes should not be counted in the counting.
Sources said that the Speaker would also be asked in the letter to send disqualification reference against such members to the Election Commission.
In addition, it has been suggested that on the basis of the letter of the Prime Minister, the Speaker of the National Assembly should roll out the no-confidence motion of the opposition.
Sources said that the alleged list of such members is already with Imran Khan. The Prime Minister has been requested to request the Speaker not to allow these members to vote on violation of government policy.
